Porsche 911 Slant Nose
Am I rad enough?
This is the question you must answer before driving away in this red Rad slant nose 911 Porsche cabriolet Wide Body.
The car started life as a 1971 911 Targa before much much 80’s flachbau radness was applied. In short, the car was converted to right hand drive and steel wide body guards were added in everyone’s 80’s favourite hue: Guards Red. Rear side strakes and pop up headlights were included for extra radness. The targa top was replaced with a full convertible roof, with zip down rear screen. This bodywork was done to a high level and today shows no rust or other issues.
The 2.2 litre carb motor was replaced with a fuel injected 2.7 litre and a 915 gearbox fitted.
In more recent times, the car has undergone a major service at Cavaco Motors to ensure easy starting and trouble free running. This included CIS fuel injection pressures setup and tune, head stud check and tensioning, tappets setting, plugs and coil replacement and distributor rebuild and recurve. The brake system was also flushed and bled, the wheel bearings checked and adjusted, the clutch checked and adjusted and all shifter bushings replaced. A compression check done at this time showed a healthy 170 +-5 psi.
New tyres have also been just added with period correct big sidewalls in 205/65F & 225/60R. The wheels are rare Japanese made AME brand gold mesh 3 piece in 15x8F & 9R with heaps of deep rad 80’s dish.
In summary, a typical 80’s period hot rod Porsche build with recent recommissioning to ensure a fun driver with rad street presence.
